A Discovery Walk

Our Walking Place
Now I'm not a big walker - yet - but I do have a nice story about a walk.
My husband and I went walking in the cool of a summer evening once not long ago, down the road past our house and into a new neighbourhood. That's the area the picture shows. We live in Australia and this was when we lived in Far North Queensland.
It was a lovely evening which was a reward for us walkers in itself, but do you know, since we usually drove everywhere, we had not yet noticed there were two new houses being built near us?
The construction sites had been abandoned by their workers by the time we walked by, so we took the opportunity to explore the almost finished (but not locked up!) new housing sites. It was an unexpected pleasure looking through the new windows and seeing our own neighbourhood scenery afresh.
As we both worked at more than full-time jobs then, it was a rare pleasure to be able to explore something new and unexpected together. We took the opportunity to actually talk with each other, too. The mental effect of that lovely evening lasted for a long time afterwards.
We discovered new houses, yes, and enjoyed that, but we also discovered that sometimes walking can be a time of renewal for relationships as well.
